BioCare Diagnostics, Inc. was formed in 1987 as an independent diagnostic imaging facility. Our first location was opened in Brookline and provides diagnostic cardiac ultrasound, exercise tolerance testing, Holter monitoring, Stress-Echocardiography testing and event monitoring. In 1993, with Joseph Polak, M.D.,  Director of Cardiovascular Imaging, Tufts New England Medical Center, as our medical advisor, we expanded our range of services to include vascular imaging, including cerebrovascular exams, extremity venous and arterial ultrasounds, and abdominal vascular exams.

In 1995, we opened a women’s health facility in Quincy, which provides diagnostic ultrasound imaging of the abdominal organs and pelvis along with obstetrical ultrasound studies (level II and III), biophysical profiles (high risk patients), fetal non-stress-testing and mammography. BioCare has now expanded to over fifty clinical sites of various specialties, ranging from hospitals to independent, multi-specialty physician groups, encompassing the Northeastern region.

Since 1994, BioCare has maintained a professional relationship with Partners Healthcare (Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital) to provide professional interpretation of diagnostic studies performed by BioCare. In 1998, BioCare established a similar relationship with the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division of New England Medical Center, not only performing the ultrasounds for their professional interpretation, but also working alongside them in several community hospitals providing high risk obstetrical exams. BioCare has now expanded its relationships to many of the major teaching and community hospitals, and their community-based physician practices.
