Quality
Assurance
BioCare
endeavors to assure that the highest standards of diagnostic ultrasound
testing are maintained, by emphasizing numerous quality control
measures.
All ultrasound technologists must be registered by the American
Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or registry
eligible. All sonographers must maintain an active registration
status with the ARDMS, by earning regular Continuing Medical Education
credits, obtained by attending professional conferences/seminars
related to their area of expertise. All radiologic technologists
must be registered by the state of Massachusetts and credentialed
with the American College of Radiology, within their specific fields.
All sonographers and technologists have their clinical performance
routinely reviewed for technical excellence by the Ultrasound Technical
Managers and Radiology Technical Managers, who each have over 20
years of clinical ultrasound and radiologic experience, and by the
BioCare Medical Directors.
BioCare Medical Directors, who are each experts in one or
more areas of diagnostic ultrasound specialization, supervise quality
control standards over each of the ultrasound specialties.
Quality Assurance meetings are routinely held by the Ultrasound
and Radiology Technical Managers with their staff sonographers,
in order to address any quality-related issues.
BioCare
places a high priority on Laboratory Accreditation. BioCare is currently
an Accredited Ultrasound Laboratory by the American Institute of
Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) and an Accredited Vascular Laboratory
by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular
Laboratories. BioCares multiple mammography sites are currently
accredited by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA), the American
College of Radiology (ACR), and the state of Massachusetts. Accreditations
in the fields of echocardiography, and other areas of diagnostic
ultrasound, which have only recently become available, are being
sought by BioCare Diagnostics.
